The 5 Most Important High-Level Priorities for Your Marketing Campaign

Figure out these important priorities for your marketing campaign.

There are dozens, if not hundreds of variables you’ll need to consider for your marketing campaign, including the tactics you want to adopt and the goals you want to accomplish. But everything gets much clearer if and when you settle on the high-level priorities for your campaign.

These are some of the most important:

  1. Budget. How much money are you willing to spend? Ideally, you’ll have an ample budget to work with. If you spend too little money, you won’t get the quality or placement your campaign needs to succeed. But it’s not just a matter of spending lots of money, either; you also need to consider how you’re spending your money.
  2. Audience. Who is your target audience? This is an especially important question for businesses with multiple potential demographic niches; which audience are you specifically targeting with this campaign? The more specifically you can answer this question, the better.
  3. Timeframe. Different marketing strategies take different amounts of time to develop, so you’ll need to consider how much time you’re willing to spend. Do you want to build a reputation over the course of months to years, or are you trying to build hype for an event that’s just a week or two away?
  4. Creativity/differentiation. You should also consider how much you want to differentiate your brand, and how much creativity you want to pour into the campaign. Sometimes, deviating from the norm and taking risks can offer an amazing payout. Other times, a traditional approach is better.
  5. Integration. What other marketing strategies are you planning to tie into this one? In the modern world of online marketing, synergy is one of your most important considerations.

Obviously, these aren’t the only considerations you’ll need to bear in mind for your campaign. You’ll also need to figure out how your brand should be presented, what your competition is doing, and how your campaigns have performed in the past.
